Day 47.

Forgot my camera home today. Painted scenery, made roses, cleaned a storage space at the ice hall. Went to Jokiasema for the last time this year, as they close down today. Long long lines, as drinks were 1-2 euros. Waited in line for 15 mins to get coffee and a doughnut.

Kamera jäi kotiin, joten jäähallin talkoo härdellistä ei ole kuvia. Maalattiin linnaa, tehtiin ruusuja ja siivotiiin. Jokiaseman sulkijaisissa jonotin 15 min kahvia ja munkkia. Nam.

Day 46.

Took DD to her morning practise at 6:20 am, came back home, took the older cat out for his little walk, had coffee on the balcony (with some leftover goodies from yesterday when DD baked), mended a pair of jeans, made a snack for DD who got home from school early (they had a special theme day thingie), went with her to the ice hall for the second time because they had extra practise...a pretty crazy day.

Likka aamuharkkoihin, kotiin, kissan kanssa pihalle, ompelukone esille ja farkkuja paikkaamaan, välipalaa likalle, jolla oli koulussa teemapäivä, takaisin hallille ylimääräisiin harkkoihin...hullunmyllyä.

Day 45.

The balcony is ready! And DD has her costume for the ice show! / Parveke on valmis! Ja lapsi puvustettu Prinsessa Ruususen kyläläiseksi.

Day 44.

A depressing, rainy morning. Met a lovely friend for lunch and another one for coffee. Saw some blue skies. A lot going on with the builders, used the cat as an excuse to spy on them a little. Aksu the Cat tried to tell me something in the afternoon, not quite sure what though...

Masentava sateinen aamu. Yhden ihanan kaverin kanssa lounasta ja toisen kanssa kahvia. Sadekin hellitti. Raksamiehet touhuaa, vein kissan takapihalle ja kyttäsin niitten touhuja, en ilenny ottaa kuvia kuitenkaan. Aksu-kissa yritti varmaan viestiä jotain, mutta en kyllä keksi mitä....

Day 43.

Watched the builders lift up the wooden thingies from the backyard to the roof of the building, fascinating. Almost managed to finish the pair of woollen socks I'm knitting. And baked, prebaked Karelian pastries, but the smell is genuine enough. Not a bad start of a week.

Raksamiehet nosteli takapihalta puisia rakennelmia katolle, jännää. Sukkapari melkein valmis. Ja Pirkka oli leiponu meille hyvät karjalanpiirakat, jotka mie vaan paistoin. Tästä se meno senkun paranee!

Day 42.

Sundays are relatively busy in our house; DD has practise at noon and she does all her homework in the morning because "there is nothing else to do".

I tried a new receipe for lunch; panisse with salsa verde. It didn't turn out as yummy as it looked on the Anna Olsen cooking show, but it was ok. Even DD ate it.

I'm very happy that we ordered a huge pile of towels from an army surplus store, combined with the ointments and wound dressing supplies they should help us battle DD's impetigo and other skin probs.

Sunnuntaisin sattuu ja tapahtuu. Likalla on harkat puolenpäivän maissa ja sitä ennen se tekee läksyt, kun ei oo muutakaan tekemistä.

Tein lounasta oikein ohjeesta, kikhernejauhoista ja vedestä :) Ohje tuolla yllä. Ei valtavan hyvää, mutta kaikki syötiin.

Onneks ostettiin Varustelekalta aikoinaan noita pyyhkeitä, kyllä niitä meneekin ton ruven kanssa teutaroidessa. millon pitää viedä kylmää käärettä kun kutisee ja milloin pitää kuivata suihkun jälkeen. Voidetta ja haavasidosta kuluu...

Day 41.

Regular Saturday with a bit of shopping, coffee in town, laundry and a lovely nap. DD ate too much candy and acted sillier than I would have liked to witness. Oh well....

Normilauantai. Kaupat ja kahvit, pyykit ja ihana päiväuni. Likka veti liikaa karkkia ja oli vähän hölmömpi kuin ois tarvinnu. Semmosta.

Day 40.

This is what they piled up on our backyard the other day.../nämä koristavat takapihaa.

DD left her breakfast dishes. They will wait for her to come home. /Likka unohti astiat pöytään. Ei kuulu mun toimenkuvaan korjata niitä.

My latest project. / Viimeisin projekti.

So many things to do, so little energy today. I've been doing laundry and knitting socks, and feeling very domestic indeed. DH went off to Helsinki, and DD is with a friend until 6 pm, so the cats and I are spending some quality time, each in our own room.

Paljon ois tekemistä, energiat alhaalla. Pyykkäystä ja sukankudontaa, oikein mummomainen olo. Isäntä isolla kirkolla ja lapsi kaverin luona alkuiltaan, joten kissat ja minä ollaan ympäri huushollia.

Day 39.

 DD and her friend wrapped barbies on kitchen foil. The reason was not shared. Weird kids. / Lapsi kaverinsa kanssa käärivät barbeja alumiinifolioon. Syytä ei kerrottu.

DD has impetigo, and it's infected in places. Sucks. Big time. But she's being very brave about it and let's me cover it up so she won't scratch it./ Taistelu markärupea vastaan jatkuu ja pahimpia länttejä peitellään ettei niitä raavittaisi. Onneks oon hyvä teippaan!

Day 38.

Three things on Day 38.

1. Paper roses. For the forthcoming ice show. Not my cup of tea.
2. The rain. The construction. The two of them don't add up.
3. Muru the Cat. One exhausted kitty after hiding away last night when the ladies took the living room over for Tupperware. She wouldn't even get up for lunch, which I offered :)


Kolme asiaa päivälle 38:
1. Paperiruusuja luistelunäytökseen, ei niin mun juttu.
2. Sade ja parvekeremontti. Eivät sovi yhteen.
3. Muru, pieni uupunut kissa. Eilinen tupperilta oli aivan liikaa pienelle. Ei jaksanut edes tulla lounaalle, vaikka olisin tarjonnut.

Day 37.

Rainy day. No photos. Exhausted after a busy day and a tupperware party :) Tough life?

Day 36.

DH has currently 56 boxes of CDs. And some that didn't fit into the boxes.

My fav boxes are going to Red Cross. Good riddance!!

A bit of running around, stopped by at the office to deliver some Tupperware catalogues, a bit of shopping and then back home to wash windows, clear the kitchen and move boxes in to the bedroom. Hosting a Tupperware party tomorrow :)

Ees taas juoksua, poikkesin töissä viemässä Tupperin kuvastoja, kävin pikaisesti kaupoilla ja äkkiä kotiin pesemään ikkunoita ja järjestämään köökkiä. Huomenna Tupperit ja puolukkapiirakkaa. Tänään Pirkka-kalakeittoa pakasteesta.

Day 35.

Continued with clearing the living room, filled two boxes to the brim for Red Cross. Well done! DH remodeled some furniture, and we bought some used items for the balcony, which should be finalised next week! Happy happy!!

Olohuoneen raivaus jatkuu, kyllä se siitä. Kaksi isoa laatikkoa menossa Konttiin. Parvekkeelle ostettu tuolit käytettyinä ja isäntä pienensi vanhaa tv-tasoa parvekkeelle sopivaksi. Parvekkeen pitäisi valmistua ensi viikolla, oi onnea!

Day 34.

Just a quick note to self: painted roses at the ice hall, and started to clear the bookshelves. A big box going to Red Cross. Photos will come as soon as I can find the camera again.

Day 33.

Lapsi hermostui kun olisin halunnut kuvata sen uutta kampausta.

Day 31.

A busy morning with laundry, hoovering, floor washing, dishes, groceries...but I do feel better today, a 9-hour sleep does wonders. Cooking chili sin carne and oven baked potatoes for dinner, and there is some ice cream stashed away for a rainy day :)

On a more serious note, after hearing my friend's story about the sudden death of her husband, and understanding all the paper work and clearing of things that are related to death, I wonder if organising paperwork should be one of the things for me to do this year. I mean, we have a filing system, a big box or two, but to really organise everything...

Kiirusta pukkas heti aamusta kaiken siivoamisen ja pyykkäämisen kanssa, mutta 9 tunnin yöunet auttoivat kummasti yleiseen mielialaan ja viitseliäisyyteen. Ruokana tänään papumössöä ja uuniperunoita, ja pakastimessa pitäis olla vielä vähän jätskiäkin. Kyllä tästä vielä hyvä päivä tulee! Vaikka sataa...

Day 30.

Didn't sleep well. Result: headache and short fuse. And I'm tired of the construction work which started in May and is still not finished.

Huonosti nukutun yön jälkeen pää kipee ja pinna kireellä.  Ja ärsyttää tuo toukokuusta asti jatkunut rakennustyömaa.

Day 29.

I had all sorts of things I wanted to share today, silly little things. A few minutes ago I heard that a friend had lost her husband on Saturday and that pretty much leaves me wordless. Be sure to cherish the silly little things right now.

Olin kirjoittamassa pienistä hassuista asioista, kunnes kuulin että ystävän mies on kuollut, viikonloppuna kotonaan äkillisesti. Sanat ovat nyt aika turhia. Onneksi on niitä pieniä hassuja asioita, joista kannattaa nauttia juuri nyt.

Day 28.

I quote my FB status: regular Sunday morning in our house: sleep late, check kid's homework, send her off to the ice hall, think about chores, decide to rest instead.

A lovely afternoon cup of tea at Jokiasema with DH, at home a blueberry pie and computer time. I don't have my own computer anymore so during the weekends I depend on DD&DH to let me use theirs. We are rather particular about our computers around here :) Using DD's now, and the photos are from her room. The cat decided to sleep on the clean linen which I didn't put away yet...

Status naamiksessa: tavallinen sunnuntaiaamu tässä huushollissa: nukuttiin myöhään, tarkistin lapsen läksyt, lähetin sen hallille harkkoihin, mietin kotitöitä ja päätin pyhittää lepopäivän. 

Iltapäivällä isännän kanssa Jokiasemalla, kotona mustikkapiirakka ja tietokoneella istumista. Mulla ei oo nyt omaa konetta, joten viikonloppuisin pitää sovitella online-aika perheen koneellisten mukaan. Nyt olen likan koneella, ja kuvat on sen huoneesta. Isompi kissa päätti nukkua puhtaissa lakanoissa.

Day 27.

A bit of shopping, a bit of napping, a lot of pizza making and watching a horrible season's opening of Talent Finland with DD. She, by the way, made 2.80 euros by collecting beer cans by the sports field. One happy kid.

Day 26.

Watched wildlife thought the window, had coffee with a friend, walked through the market square and realised I don't want or need anything today, got started on laundry, promised to do something fun with DD in the evening. Not a bad Friday so far.

Villi luonto mekastaa takapihalla, aamukahvit ystävän kanssa, kotimatkalla markkinoiden läpi kävellessä huomasin etten tarvitse tai halua mitään tänään, pyykit pyörii, illalla lupasin tehdä jotain kivaa lapsen kanssa. Hyvin sujuu tämä perjantai!

Day 25.

DD's breakfast and snack; she has 6:45 practise and goes to school at 8 am so she needs this box filled to the brim. // Lapsen aamiainen ja välipala, harkkojen jälkeen ja ennen liikuntatunteja.

Some fun clippings waiting to be made into something. //Vanhat lehtileikkeet odottavat uutta elämää.

DH and I went to look for some furniture for the balcony, totally wrong season to do that. But must try, or sit on beer crates. Parents' night at school, not too much looking forward to it, but will go. DH and DD went swimming. That totals in 5 hours of sports for DD today, I have a feeling she might be in for an early night.

Ajeltiin isännän kanssa katselemaan parvekkeelle kalusteita, väärä aika vuodesta, joo. Taitaa mennä kaljakorin päällä istumiseksi. Koululla vanhempainilta, ei kamalasti huvita, mutta kai se pitää mennä. Muut meni uimaan, paitsi kissat, jotka nukkuu. Likan liikuntasaldo nousee 5 tuntiin tältä päivältä, luulis nukuttavan.

Day 24.

Some painting going on in the house, as well as some secret candy eating. // Pientä pintaremonttia ja salainen karkkikätkö.

Day 23.

Another pretty, sunny day! DD had a short day at school so plenty of time to do homework and go skating, and to her zumba class. She was also accepted (or rather was lucky as the participants were drawn) to the training for mediators at school. One busy girl!

And I have the new IKEA catalogue to keep me busy and entertained.

Ihana aurinkoinen keli jatkuu! Likalla lyhyt päivä koulussa, joten läksyille ja yleisövuorolle oli aikaa ennen zumbaa. Huomenna se meneekin vertaissovittelijakoulutukseen, johon pääsi arvonnan kautta.

Day 22.

Lovely lovely day with a fun outing with a bunch of fun ladies. // Ihana aurinkoinen syyspäivä ja kiva retki hauskassa seurassa.

Day 21.

Grey and ugly morning, the kids upstairs had a party at night and decided that slinging the garbage from the third floor to the backyard was a good idea. Stupid kids. They showed some remorse and picked the crap up later on.

The rest of the day has been sunny and warm. Got a runny nose, that keeps me indoors, but at least I can enjoy the sun through the windows :)

Harmaata ja rumaa aamua korosti yläkerran juhlivien pentujen pihalle heittämät roskat. Onneksi kävivät ne sieltä siivoamassa. Aurinko vei kuitenkin voiton, ja kamala nuha, joten olen pysynyt enimmäkseen sisällä.

Day 20.

DH is in Copenhagen, after a cancelled flight, a broken train and getting rebooked, he made it. Trying to solve travel crisis by text messages is not my forte. DD had morning practise, after which we set out on a mission to buy at least one decent pair of leggings or similar for her to wear in school as all her old ones are either too small or have too many holes in them to be called decent. We bought three pairs and a scarf. And a lot of stuff from the drug store to patch up DD's toes....long story and painful blisters. Also got some Omega-3, which cannot hurt either of us, I think.

In the afternoon I had coffee at Jokiasema and DD went to the swimming pool with a friend. While they were in the water, someone had messed with their shoes in the dressing room, and dumped one from each pair into the rubbish bin, from where the cleaning lady had removed them. After some panicky moments, they went to the reception, tracked down the cleaning lady who dug out the shoes for them. I called the pool afterwards asking what exactly is the point of emptying the shoes from the bin, rather than putting them on the bench as the likelihood that anyone would come in wearing odd pairs and dump them in the bin is probably quite small....

Perutun lennon ja hajonneen junan jälkeen isäntä pääsi kuin pääsikin Köpikseen. Kriisinhallinta tekstareilla ei ole vahvoja puoliani. Likalla aamuharkat, joitten jälkeen päämäärätietoisesti kaupoille ostamaan ehjät, kunnolliset housut. Kaikki vanhat liian pieniä tai reikäisiä. Löydettiin kolmet, ja huivi. Ja apteekista iso läjä varpaiden paikkaustarpeita...ja omega-3, josta tuskin on haittaa.

Iltapäiväkahveet Jokkarilla, ja sillä välin likka meni uimahalliin kaverinsa kanssa.Siis oikeasti, mitä ajattelee a) ihminen joka heittää ilkeyksissään uimahallin pukukopissa kahden pikkutytön kenkäpareista toiset kengät roskikseen ja b)siivooja joka tyhjentää ko. roskiksen jätesäkkiin ajattelematta että kukahan olisi tullut eriparin kengissä halliin ja jättänyt kengät roskiin? Uimahallillle annettu palaute, idioottia tuskin tavoittaa.
